A cell phone video shows a black woman, Dyma Loving, being arrested by Miami-Dade police officers in Florida after she reportedly called the cops for help after someone pulled a gun on her and her daughter, notes the Miami New Times.
In the video, someone asks the officers to “please calm down.” but one cop replies: “She needs to be corrected if anything.”
Loving responds: “Why do I have to be corrected when my life and my daughter’s life was just threatened?”
An officer grabs Loving in a headlock and pulls her down to the concrete sidewalk.
Miami-Dade Police Department Director Juan Perez tweeted a response to the video:
An investigation into the entire incident is currently ongoing and upon its conclusion, I will hold those that violated any of our policies and/or procedures accountable for their actions or lack thereof.— Juan Perez (@JPerezMDPD) March 14, 2019
