Melania Trump Celebrates Her First Year As First Lady Without Mentioning Her Husband
First Lady Melania Trump celebrated her first year as the first lady on Jan. 20 without mentioning her husband President Donald Trump (video below).
Instead, Melania tweeted a picture of herself on Jan. 20 with a caption:
This has been a year filled with many wonderful moments. I’ve enjoyed the people I’ve been lucky enough to meet throughout our great country & the world! 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/MMRi72ENd0

The women’s magazine Marie Claire countered:
Hmmmm. First of all, this year has not been filled with “many wonderful moments” for immigrants, women, transgender people in the military, and the entire island of Puerto Rico—to name a few.
CNN reports that Melania has pulled out of a trip with the president to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
Last week, East Wing communications director Stephanie Grisham told CNN that Melania would be attending the annual meeting of influential financial leaders, but now Grisham says that Melania’s decision to pull out of the trip was based on “scheduling and logistical issues.”
Melania decided to pull out on her 13th wedding anniversary (video below).
