UPDATE: Kelly knew that blackface was wrong two years ago. Her apology for this incident is mocked. “TODAY’ show host Al Roker slammed Kelly’s comments, while Morgan Radford tried to spin Kelly’s racism into a “learning moment.”
“TODAY” show host Megyn Kelly insisted that white people should be allowed to wear blackface during Halloween:
What is racist? You do get in trouble if you are a white person who puts on blackface on Halloween, or a black person that puts on whiteface for Halloween.
Back when I was a kid, that was okay, as long as you were dressing up as, like, a character.
E! TV host Melissa Rivers tried to clarify the concept for Kelly:
If you think it’s offensive, it probably is. Whatever happened to manners and polite society?
Kelly, who has a long history of racist statements (video below), insisted that Halloween was not about manners and civility:
You’ve got guys with fake axes coming out of their head. It’s going to be jarring.
