Megyn Kelly Knew Blackface Was Offensive 2 Years Ago, Her Apology Is Mocked
“TODAY’ show host Megyn Kelly knew at least two years ago that blackface was offensive, but on Oct. 23 she supported white people wearing blackface for Halloween.
Kelly told her audience in on Oct. 24 that she only “learned” blackface was offensive on Oct. 23, notes Mediaite:
Yesterday, I learned. I learned that given the history of blackface being used in awful ways by racists in this country, it is not okay for that to be part of any costume — halloween or otherwise. I have never been a p.c. kind of person. But I do understand the value in being sensitive to our history, particularly on race and ethnicity.
However, in 2016, she wrote a tweet about Pastor Mark Burns when he apologized for posting a cartoon mocking Hillary Clinton in blackface:

I’m stunned that the woman who said on national television, “Santa Clause is white, get over it,” didn’t have the intellectual depth to understand why blackface is wrong. Truly a shocking development.

I’m not sure what offends me more, @megynkelly pretending to be remorseful with her crocodile tears or Megyn Kelly acting stupid about the historical implications of blackface. If @nbc thinks her “apology” erases the years of overt racism, then they’ve lost a viewer for life!

I sit here laughing because Kelly is ignorant, @nbc hired a former fox employee which demonstrates that the org prefers revenue over substance. This woman is supposedly educated yet is uncultured. This is NOT a teachable moment. As guest call it out, ignorance

It’s a pattern of behavior for this woman. So this apology is meaningless..

not only is this not the first ignorant, racist thing she’s said on tv, she said it knowing people would get upset, but also knowing she’e be in the news. if that’s not dispicable i don’t know what is.

@megynkelly you tried it. It is always inappropriate to dress up in black face for ANY occasion. This includes appropriating any other cultures as well.
If you want to dress up as Diana Ross for Halloween go ahead, but you do not need to darken your skin to do it. #Halloween pic.twitter.com/1qQHKyDUJu

NBC News knew what kind of racist Megyn Kelly was when they hired her. In fact it was part of a ploy to tap into Fox’s audience. They’re now pretending to be “shocked, shocked” she did a racist thing and are generating viral content on it. It’s all phony.

@megynkelly is a racist! Apology not accepted! She lies to excuse her racism by saying blackface was okay when it never was and that Santa Claus and Jesus were white – more lies! She should not have a television show!
