Megachurch Pastor Robert Jeffress Slams ‘Evangelical Elites’ Who Won’t Support Trump
Pastor Robert Jeffress of First Baptist Dallas slammed other Christian leaders for not supporting President Donald Trump.
Jeffress scolded his fellow Christians during an interview on the “Janet Mefferd Live” radio show, notes OneNewsNow:
Look, poor President Trump gets blamed for everything from the melting of the polar ice caps to now the evangelical crisis. And you know, that word “crisis” means “divide.” And I will admit there is a divide going on among evangelicals.
President Trump didn’t cause the divide, but he has exposed it. It’s been a growing divide between those who take the Bible seriously and those who don’t. I call them the evangelical elite, the Christianity Today crowd.
And here’s where it comes down to, think about this. President Trump is the most pro-life, pro-religious liberty, pro-Israel president in history. So why do we have this resistance among the evangelical elite while the mass of evangelicals in the pews support him? And what it comes down to is the evangelical elite really don’t embrace these values.
Jeffress also claimed these Christians cared more about immigrants, who have already been born, than people who have not been born:
What it comes down to is the evangelical elite really don’t embrace these values. To them, they are more concerned about fixing the problem with DREAMers than they are about protecting the life of the unborn.
Or when it comes to Israel, they are much more concerned about the plight of the poor Palestinians than they are of protecting the Jews’ right to inhabit that land God gave them.
Jeffress slammed Christians who believe gay people should not be denied service by companies:
And when it comes to religious liberty, you talk to these evangelical elites privately, they really do believe those Colorado bakers ought to be forced to bake that wedding cake for a gay wedding.
