Medics, Observers, Journalist Face 50 Years In Prison After Being Swept Up In Arrests During Anti-Trump Inauguration Protests

Medics, observers and a journalist, Alexei Wood, are going on trial after being swept up in a mass arrest by police in Washington D.C. during the anti-Trump protests on  Inauguration Day, January 20 (J20).

Democracy Now reports that there was some vandalism of businesses and vehicles in Northwest D.C., but police officers swept up and blocked hundreds of people into a corner in a process known as “kettling.”

The people who were blocked by the police now face multiple felony and misdemeanor charges in what is being called the first “J20 trial.”
