The Life Tabernacle Church in Central, Louisiana is holding church services with more than 1,000 attendees in defiance of medical and state warnings to avoid large gatherings.
The church services also includes hands-on “healings,” which supposedly heal the coronavirus.
Pastor Tony Spell told KATC that he didn’t believe his church was in danger of infection:
It’s not a concern. The virus, we believe, is politically motivated. We hold our religious rights dear and we are going to assemble no matter what someone says.
Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards told CBS’ “Face the Nation.” Edwards that the state has limited public gatherings to 50 or under and urged “all faith leaders to heed this directive,” reports Bloomberg News.
