Leaked CDC Document Debunks Pence’s Absurd Claim That COVID-19 Cases ‘Have Stabilized’ in U.S.
Vice President Mike Pence’s absurd claim that COVID-19 cases “have stabilized” was debunked by a leaked document from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Pence — who is head of the White House coronavirus task force — claimed in a Wall Street Journal op-ed on June 16 that “cases have stabilized over the past two weeks, with the daily average case rate across the U.S. dropping to 20,000 — down from 30,000 in April and 25,000 in May.”
However, the CDC’s COVID-19 Response Update on June 16 shows the U.S. rate of increase for the coronavirus is a whopping 18.3 percent, reports Yahoo News.
Meanwhile, Brazil’s COVID-19 cases dropped 27 percent, and Russia’s cases fell by almost 7 percent.
