Lara Trump Falsely Claims Stuttering is Sign of Cognitive Decline

President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump falsely claimed on CNN that stuttering — which occurs in adults and children — is a sign of cognitive decline.

CNN host Jake Tapper asked Lara how “it makes little kids with stutters feel when they see” her mocking former Vice President Joe Biden’s stutter, which he has had all of his life and has been public about it for decades.

Lara claimed she had no idea Biden had a stutter, and made her bogus medical claim:

First and foremost, I had no idea that Joe Biden ever suffered from a stutter. I think what we see on stage with Joe Biden, Jake, is very clearly a cognitive decline.

Tapper debunked her amateur diagnosis:

I think you have absolutely no standing to diagnose someone’s cognitive decline. I would think that somebody in the Trump family would be more sensitive to people who do not have medical licenses diagnosing politicians from afar. Plenty people have diagnosed your [father-in-law] from afar. And I’m sure it offends you.

After diagnosing Biden, Lara denied she did: “I’m not diagnosing him.”

Lara was subsequently pounded on Twitter.
