One of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s “best friends,” Meghan McCaleb, refused to say that Kavanaugh’s accuser Professor Christine Blasey Ford is lying about her sexual assault claims about Kavanaugh.
McCaleb told “Fox and Friends” that she was not at the party where Kavanaugh allegedly sexually assaulted Ford when they were teens.
McCaleb also claimed she knew Ford, as they “went to the same pool growing up.”
Fox News host Ainsley Earhardt asked McCaleb if “she believed this woman” and added, “Why do you think she’s doing this?”
McCaleb stammered and stuttered but refused to say that Ford is lying:
I’m, I’m, uh, I’m not certain. It’s, you know, she alleges that she had this traumatic event and, and—uh, I, I feel like it is—it is not the Brett Kavanaugh that we know. It’s so wildly inaccurate to his character that, uh, I’m not, I’m not certain where it’s coming from.
McCaleb also said she was around Kavanaugh when he was drinking “many times,” but never saw Kavanaugh drunk, even as he was drinking: “I have never seen him stumbling drunk, ever.”
McCaleb claimed she drank with Kavanaugh on multiple occasions:
Yes! And he was always in control, and always respectful—he was one of the more mature ones of the group.”
Earhardt asked McCaleb to provide any dirt she had on Ford: “What are women saying about her?”
McCaleb replied: “People are in disbelief. They really are. Because it’s absolutely not in Brett’s character… We are shocked that this is even coming out.”
