Japan’s ‘Flying Car’ Gets Off Ground in Test Flight

SkyDrive demonstrated its new “flying car” with a four-minute test flight with one person aboard in Tokyo, Japan.

The “flying car” does not appear to have any wheels, and resembles a snow mobile with drone propellers.

SkyDrive head Tomohiro Fukuzawa told The Associated Press that he hopes his “flying car” can be sold to the public by 2023. He added that this version can only fly for about five to 10 minutes:

Of the world’s more than 100 flying car projects, only a handful has succeeded with a person on board. I hope many people will want to ride it and feel safe.
