Immigrant children say they go hungry while being detained under President Donald Trump’s “no tolerance” policy, which forces children to be snatched away from their parents and placed in detention camps.
CBS News host Gayle King asked a 15-year-old boy named Renaldo at a detention center: “Were you treated very well, were you afraid there?”
Renaldo recalled how the detention center operates like a prison with midnight checks:
I was very scared. At midnight they wake you up to count everyone in the cells.
King later added:
Renaldo also told us that he did not get enough to eat He said he was fed apples and water — and neither did other people.
