Imprisoned Immigrant Kids Forced To Say Pledge Of Allegiance: Report
Immigrant children, who have been forcibly separated from their parents and imprisoned by the Trump administration, are reportedly forced to say the Pledge of Allegiance in a detention center (Casa Padre) in Brownsville, Texas.
The Washington Post notes the children are imprisoned in “a converted Walmart where each morning they are required to stand and recite the Pledge of Allegiance, in English, to the country that holds them apart from their parents.”
An detention center employee, who refused to be identified, confirmed the practice, which is illegal in U.S. schools: “We tell them, ‘It’s out of respect.'”
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump showed contempt for U.S. law on June 25 by saying there should not be due process for immigrants, reported The Washington Post.
