Imprisoned Immigrant Children Drugged, Told Not To Hug Siblings, Forced To Bathe In Sinks

UPDATE: A federal judge has ordered the Trump administration to stop forcibly drugging the imprisoned children without the consent of a parent or guardian.

While the Trump administration fails to meet court-ordered deadlines to reunite over two thousands imprisoned immigrant children with their parents, new reports say that children are being drugged, told not to hug siblings and are forced to bathe in office sinks (video below).

The Washington Post reports that some of the released children said they saw other kids being injected with drugs if they misbehaved, while other kids were denied medication that they needed.

The Washington Post notes that children are watched with hidden cameras and are prevented from hugging their siblings.

One girl named Sandy recalled her time at Southwest Key Combes, a shelter in Harlingen, Texas: “They told us to behave, or we’d be there forever.”

Aura Bogado reported in Reveal how immigrant children being imprisoned in Phoenix by defense contractor MVM were seen bathing in office sinks (video below).  :

Bogado also reported about a lawsuit that says children were drugged against heir will at the Shiloh Residential Treatment Center in Manvel, Texas.

Bogado discussed her reports on Democracy Now.
