IKEA Shoppers Chase Man Accused Of Filming Up Woman’s Skirt, Woman Refuses To Press Charges

A man was chased by shoppers at an IKEA store after allegedly filming up a woman’s skirt in Sunrise, Florida, on July. 8.

WSVN reports that surveillance video shows 59-year-old Jose Carlos Barrios running away; other shoppers stopped Barrios and grabbed his cell phone.

Police said Barrios tood behind a 24-year-old woman on the escalator and used his cell phone to take pictures up her skirt.

Sunrise Police Officer Luis Fernandez said:

He was stalking different females. Bold and very aggressive type of crime if you think about the circumstances. This is the middle of the day, at IKEA, broad daylight. Thankfully, the bystanders who were at the scene were very vigilant.

Fernandez said the woman declined to press charges, but police found several video clips — on Barrios’ cell phone — that appeared to be of other victims. Barrios was charged with one felony count of video voyeurism.

After a close examination of the suspect’s phone, through a search warrant, we identified that he had 57 other videos inside his phone.

What we’d like is, any victims or possible victims who were at IKEA store on July 8th, 2018, we’d like you to contact the Sunrise Police Department.
