Hockey Player Suffers Heart Attack, Is Saved By Doctor Who Happened To Be Playing

Jib Street suffered a heart attack right on the ice during a pickup hockey game in January.

Street recalled the incident to the TODAY show:

My heart had stopped pumping, and I wasn’t breathing, and my organs were shutting down.

Fortunately, Dr. Craig Bryant was playing on the opposing team. he immediately started during CPR:

I did realize how serious this was. Your brain can have irreversible damage at the four to six-minute mark…So this is one of those situations where time is extremely important.

Bryant called for a defibrillator, which the ice rink had, and used it to revive Street five minutes later.

“He’s my guardian angel,” Street said of Bryant . “I’m blessed to be here.”
