Harvey Weinstein has reportedly flown to Europe after The New Yorker released an audio tape of the film producer trying to convince a young woman to come into his hotel room and watch him take a shower.
An unidentified source close to Weinstein told TMZ that the film producer is flying to Europe to enter a sex addiction live-in facility to deal with his behavioral issues.
However, some people on social media are suggesting Weinstein left for Europe to escape possible arrest after being accused by three women of rape in The New Yorker article.
The New Yorker released audio of Weinstein trying to talk Filipina-Italian model Ambra Battilana Gutierrez into his hotel room to watch him shower during a 2015 NYPD sting operation.
Gutierrez seems grossed out by the suggestions, but Weinstein repeatedly pleads with her in a hotel hallway to watch him shower and to not embarrass him by not coming in to his hotel room.
Weinstein’s wife Georgina Chapman announced today that she was leaving her husband, notes PEOPLE:
My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions. I have chosen to leave my husband. Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time.
