Republican Rep. Diane Black of Tennessee blamed the current shutdown of the U.S. government on former President Barack Obama who has been out of office for a year.
During an interview on MSNBC, Black ignored the fact that Republicans control all three branches of government, and blamed Obama for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Act (DACA), which granted a path to citizenship for undocumented people who were brought to the U.S. as children.
Black claimed that DACA “was not under his jurisdiction. It is under the House and Senate’s jurisdiction. It’s the legislature that makes that decision.”
Black also blamed Senate Minoroty leader Chuck Schumer for the shutdown by parroting President Donald Trump’s name calling: “Schumer shutdown.”
