GOP House Candidate Rick Saccone Claims His Critics Hate God, US

GOP Pennsylvania state Rep. Rick Saccone, who is running in a special election for U.S House, claims that his critics hate God, hate the United States and hate President Donald Trump.

Saccone, a conservative Christian who is trailing his Democratic opponent Conor Lamb in the 18th congressional district, made his bizarre claims during a speech to voters in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania on March 12, notes NBC News:

They’re energized for hate for our president. Many of them have a hatred for our country. I’ll tell you some more — my wife and I saw it again today, they have a hatred for God.

Saccone provided no proof that his fellow Americans hate God or the U.S.

Trump won the 18th district by 20 points in the 2016 presidential election, but a new Monmouth poll has Lamb ahead in the Republican stronghold by six points.

Saccone dismissed the Monmouth poll. “I don’t put much credence in it. Everywhere I go, it’s 100 to one for Rick Saccone. So I’m ready.”

Donald Trump Jr. campaigned with Saccone on March 12: “We need guys like Rick Saccone to be in there fighting with my father.”
