Fox News host Laura Ingraham, who lost advertisers because she mocked Parkland student shooting survivor David Hogg, devoted a segment of her show on May 10 to an attempted smear of Stormy Daniels’ lawyer Michael Avenatti.
Ingraham, who has also smeared NBA player LaBron James, falsely claimed that Avenatti is treated like an “investigation journalist or an impartial analyst” during his interviews on non-Fox News media outlets.
Ingraham also falsely claimed that Avenatti is pretty much a “co-host” of other shows and didn’t have time to do any legal work.
Ingraham repeatedly wondered aloud and asked her guests who was really paying Avenatti even though Avenatti has already revealed the information on Twitter:
Who is paying my legal bills? Yet again, here is the answer (in Dropbox). The next time you see a “journalist” ask this same question, please join me in mocking them for their inability to do basic research. #bastahttps://t.co/3KmODQxb69

Ari Fleischer, who has a long history of lying for the Bush administration as its press secretary (CNN counted 109 false statements just in the run-up to the Iraq War), said he was bothered because he thinks Avenatti acts like a political operative.
On May 8, Fox News host Bill Hemmer tried the same smear tactic by questioning who was paying Avenatti who could legally work pro-bono if he chose to.
