Fox Business hosts attacked Democratic Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez of New York with an old right wing attack that was used of President Obama when he held in office: “chosen one.”
The hosts falsely claimed that Ocasio-Cortez undermined her Green New Deal by hosting a 5k race in Queens om April 27, which was described as “a Family Fun Run supporting U.S. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal on the Saturday following Earth Day,” reported Refinery 27.
Fox Business host Ashley Webster began the attack with a false premise:
Correct me if I’m wrong. But a lot of those runners had no idea where their money was actually going. And they did not think it was going straight into her campaign.
Fox News host Pete Hegseth piled on the false premise:
They did not know that! I want to know, did every finisher of that race get a participation ribbon? That’s her philosophy. There could not be a winner of this fun run! That would be the 1 percent, the elite, you’re not allowed to do that. Everyone finishes with the same time.
Webster lamely tried to add his nonsense:
And don’t breath too heavily because it warms the atmosphere.
Hegseth falsely claimed that Ocasio-Cortez “doesn’t care” about climate change “because she thinks she is the Green New Deal.”
Hegseth also pulled the tired old right wing attack used on Obama:
In their mind, everyone wants to give to comrade Cortez because she’s the future. She’s the chosen one, according to herself.
Webster pretended to be worried about former Vice President Joe Biden who is running for president, Ocasio-Cortez is not:
If she’s the darling of the far left, where does that leave Joe Biden?
