Former Trump Officials: Trump Was ‘Delusional’ on Phone Calls With Foreign Leaders, Danger to US Security
Former top Trump officials — National Security Advisers H.R. McMaster and John Bolton, Defense Secretary James Mattis, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, White House chief of staff John Kelly, and intelligence officials — reportedly believe that President Donald Trump was “delusional” during phone calls with foreign leaders.
White House and intelligence officials told CNN that Trump was outplayed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Erdogan during phone calls, which posed a danger to the national security of the U.S.
Sources told CNN that Trump often slammed former Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama while speaking to Putin, Erdogan, Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed bin Salman and North Korean dictator Kim Jong, all of whom have a long history of human rights violations.
Trump reportedly called U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May weak and claimed she lacked courage, and told German Chancellor Angela Merkel that she was “stupid.”
