A private school, the Centner Academy, in Miami, Florida, told parents in a letter that it will not hire teachers who have been vaccinated.
Leila Centner, the school’s co-founder, spread her false claims about the vaccine causing reproductive issues in women in a statement to WTVJ:
We are not 100% sure the COVID injections are safe and there are too many unknown variables for us to feel comfortable at this current time.. It appears that those who have received the injections may be transmitting something from their bodies to those with whom they come in contact.
However, doctors and scientists have repeatedly debunked myths about COVID vaccine side effects, and there is no evidence that any of the vaccines cause reproductive issues for women.
This was also backed up by CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky:
No safety concerns were observed for people vaccinated in the third trimester or safety concerns for their babies. As such, CDC recommends pregnant people receive COVID-19 vaccines.
