Florida Gov. Rick Scott Killed Obama’s High-Speed Rail Plan, Now Supports Same Plan By Company He Invested Millions In
Republican Gov. Rick Scott of Florida killed President Barack Obama’s $2.4 billion federally-funded bullet train from Orlando to Tampa in 2011.
At the time, Scott whined that the black president’s pre-paid plan carried “an extremely high risk of overspending taxpayer dollars with no guarantee of economic growth,” notes the Miami Herald.
However, in June, Scott said he supports the same rail plan by All Aboard Florida, a company based in Coral Gables, Florida, which supports Scott.
Scott and his wife invested at least $3 million in a credit fund for All Aboard Florida’s parent company in 2017.
