Feds Raid Office Of Trump Fundraiser Elliott Broidy In Money-Laundering Investigation
ProPublica reports that federal authorities raided the Los Angeles office of Republican fundraiser and Trump associate Elliott Broidy in July 2018.
According to a search warrant, federal agents were looking for records related to Broidy’s dealings with foreign officials and Trump administration associates.
ProPublica notes “the search warrant cites three potential crimes that authorities are investigating: conspiracy, money laundering and violations of the law barring covert lobbying on behalf of foreign officials.”
Broidy was a Trump campaign fundraiser and the national deputy finance chair of the Republican National Committee until April 2018, when it was revealed he had agreed to secretly pay off a former Playboy model — and procured an abortion for her.
CNN reported in May 2018 that Broidy allegedly used his connections with Trump to land $800 million in business deals from foreign clients, which he denied.
