Failed Presidential Candidate Rep. Tulsi Gabbard Drops Her $50 Million Defamation Lawsuit Against Hillary Clinton

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) dropped her lawsuit against the Democratic Party’s 2016 presidential nominee Hillary Clinton for defamation, notes Reuters.

Gabbard insisted for months that Clinton had to be held accountable for making comments that never mentioned Gabbard’s name.

According to Gabbard, it was Clinton’s comments — about an unnamed Democratic candidate being groomed by Russia for a third-party run in 2020 — that somehow harmed Gabbard’s reputation.

Gabbard and her campaign claimed in court papers that the lawsuit was being withdrawn even though they “remain certain of the action’s legal merit.”

Gabbard claimed that she had to focus coronavirus crisis, which she has no influence over, and “defeating Donald Trump in 2020, rather than righting the wrongs here.”
