A driver stopped at an intersection, got out of his car, and lit a firework near a Black Lives Matter protest in Riverside, California on June 1.
However, a protester tossed the firework back in the driver’s vehicle, prompting the driver and the passenger to run away as the firework exploded inside the vehicle, reports KABC.
Police identified the driver as as 20-year-old Gabriel Castillo, who is on probation for evading the police.
According to police, a “group of onlookers and the suspect driver” attacked the protester who threw the firework into the vehicle.
