Dr. James Dobson Tells Christians: Fast And Pray So Trump Won’t Be Impeached
Dr. James Dobson called on conservative Christians on Jan. 5 to fast and pray to stop the impeachment of President Donald Trump.
Four Trump associates have been charged with felonies, and two have pleaded guilty because of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign in 2016.
Dobson made his plea to protect Trump during a conference call with the group Intercessors for America, notes Right Wing Watch:
Dobson said he “felt sorry for this man” because:
So many people obviously hate him… He faces the combined opposition from the mainstream media, from members of Congress, both Democrats and Republicans, not all of them, but many of them, the entertainment industry, the other special interest groups who seem determined to bring him down…
This country will be in serious trouble if they’re successful in impeaching this man and that’s why I’m calling for a nationwide movement to pray for him.
I’m calling for a day of fasting and prayer. I hope that Christian people, from coast to coast will join in that time, the date is your choosing, but we do need to be praying for our president.
Even though Trump lost the popular vote to Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton by 3 million, Dobson claimed God intervened:
The Lord played a role in the election of Donald Trump… I believe he was raised up for such a time as this.
It seemed evident on election night that the Lord gave us victory. So Lord, if that is true, we ask you to protect our president from anything that could hurt him.
