Doctor Kicked Out of Indiana Gas Station For Being Asian During Coronavirus

A doctor, who only gave his first name “David,” told WISH that he was kicked out of a Marathon gas station in Martinsville, Indiana on March 27 because he is Asian.

David said that he stopped by the gas station to get gas and a cup of coffee, but the clerk asked him if he was Chinese and told him to leave:

He continued to ask where I’m from and yelling at me. And then I told him that I am from Korean descent but was born in Louisville, Kentucky. And haven’t traveled out of the country in many many years. And he just went off.

The sign on this gas station’s door says: “Coronavirus Prevention: Do not enter if you have a fever or feel ill.”

President Donald Trump, some Republicans and Fox News have insisted on calling the coronavirus the “Chinese virus” and the ‘Wuhan virus.”
