Democratic Reps. Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas and Hakeem Jeffries of New York asked Lynnette Hardaway, a.k.a. “Diamond,” and Rochelle Richardson, a.k.a. “Silk,” if they had ever been paid by President Donald Trump’s campaign per the Trump campaign’s FEC filing (below) (more video below).
The chaos began when Lee asked Hardaway if she had received payments from Trump’s campaign, and Hardaway said, “No, we have never been paid by the Trump campaign.”
“You have never been paid by the Trump campaign?” Lee asked again.
“We have never been paid by the Trump campaign!” Hardaway fired back.
“Not $5, not $100?” Lee asked. “Not $1,274.94?”
“We have never been paid!” Hardaway shouted.
Later in the hearing, Jeffries noted the Trump’s campaign’s FEC filing showed that Diamond and Silk had been paid $1,274.94 for “field consulting” work by the Trump’s campaign (video below).
Richardson insisted that was reimbursement for an airplane flight, even though the FEC records back up Jeffries “field consulting” quote.
Rochelle accused Jeffries of reading “fake news,” even though Jeffries was reading from the Trump campaign’s FEC filing.
Richardson claimed that the Trump campaign had made a “mistake” in listing them as field consultant.
Jeffries asked the women about using Trump to monetize their platform, and Hardaway shouted: “You as an African American are not going to make us feel guilty for… monetizing our platform!”
