Curfews and National Guard in Kenosha, Wisconsin While People Protest the Police Shooting of Jacob Blake

The National Guard has been sent to Kenosha, Wisconsin, which is being placed under a second curfew following the police shooting of an unarmed black man, Jacob Blake, on Aug. 23, reports Kenosha News.

Protesters have been demonstrating against police brutality in the small town, while Blake rests in critical condition in a hospital in Milwaukee.

The Associated Press reports that some “demonstrators apparently hurled objects and set fire to parked cars.” CBS This Morning also reported riots and looting,

The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department announced an 8 p.m. curfew for the second night in a row on Aug. 24.

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden said there must be “an immediate, full and transparent investigation and the officers must be held accountable.”
