The rate of sexually transmitted diseases is increasing among Colorado teens, sparking calls for a sex ed bill, House Bill 1032, that would “address gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender relationships,” notes KMGH.
KMGH reports that the bill does not mandate sex education classes, but if schools do teach sexual education they have to teach comprehensive sex ed. They would also have to teach about consent.
The Christian-based Family Research Council warns this “terrible” bill “mandates that students are taught about LGBT sexual experiences. And it still forbids any teaching that even implicitly calls to mind moral teaching that has a negative view on such conduct.”
