CNN Fact-Checks Sarah Sanders As She Denies Government Report On Climate Change

CNN fact-checked White House press secretary Sarah Sanders as she denied a government report compiled by 300 scientists and 13 government agencies.

CNN ran a “Facts First” box that debunked Sanders’ false claims in real time:

You have to look at the fact that this report is based on the most extreme modeled scenario which contradicts long-established trends. Modeling the climate is an extremely complicated science that is never exact.

The Fourth National Climate Assessment” states:

Climate change threatens the health and well-being of the American people by causing increasing extreme weather, changes to air quality, the spread of new diseases by insects and pests, and changes to the availability of food and water.

Human health and safety, our quality of life, and the rate of economic growth in communities across the U.S. are increasingly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.
