Christian radio host Frank Sontag during his program on KKLA (Los Angeles) on April 24 that President Donald Trump was being “sarcastic” when he suggested people digest disinfectant to cure the coronavirus on April 23.
Sontag was upset that Trump was called out for his “insane ” claim, and said that “as a follower of Christ I’m called to honor his office.”
Trump didn’t use his “sarcastic” excuse until April 24, and Sontag parroted him the same day.
Sontag also said there is “something” to Trump’s absurd notion that UV light could somehow be used to kill COVID-19 inside the lungs.
Physicist David Brenner, director of the Center for Radiological Research at Columbia University, told WIRED that UV light can damage human cells, potentially harming the cornea, causing sunburn, and raising the risk of skin cancer.
POLITICO notes that Republicans have rushed to defend Trump’s embarrassing nonsense.
