Chicago police are reportedly “furious” because all of the 16 criminal charges filed against actor Jussie Smollett were dropped.
TMZ reports “State’s Attorney Kim Foxx told Chicago police she was dropping the case because Jussie would have only gotten community service if convicted and she said he has already performed community service so there is no point in prosecuting him.”
However, TMZ could not find any record of Smollett’s community service.
TMZ notes “Chicago police are “furious” and feel something untoward is going on with Kim Foxx.”
WGN-TV reports the Chicago police union — which normally does not support federal investigations — wants a federal investigation into Foxx’s handling of the Smullet case.
