CDC Study: Kids Can Spread Coronavirus to Their Family Members
A new study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has found that young children spread the coronavirus to their family members after being exposed to COVID-19.
The CDC study followed COVID-19 outbreaks at three child care facilities in Utah, and found that 12 children got infected, and transmitted it to at least 12 people outside the facilities.
Two of the 12 infected children were asymptomatic, which means they did not show any symptoms.
Axios notes the why this finding is important to public health:
If you are a parent or a grandparent who is sending their child to school, and there is a coronavirus outbreak at that school, you are also at risk of catching the virus. That is a terrible predicament for millions of caregivers across the country, especially those who are vulnerable.
