Police were filmed beating a naked Harvard student, whom they had pinned down in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on April 13.
Selorm Ohene was tackled and slammed on the ground by police while a bystander filmed the incident.
The police report said a woman, who appeared to be Ohene’s acquaintance, told officers that Ohene may have been on drugs, notes the Boston Globe.
Harvard University’s president, Drew Faust, said in an email to the Harvard community on April 16 that the incident was “profoundly disturbing” and “upsetting.”
Cambridge Mayor Marc C. McGovern said in a statement that he found the incident “disturbing”:
Cambridge affirms that Black Lives Matter, but it must be true in practice as well.
Cambridge police are conducting an internal review on the actions of their own officers.
