Britney Spears Loses Court Case, Her Dad Will Remain in Control of Her Money, She Refuses to Perform
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Brenda J. Penny ruled that Britney Spears’ father, Jamie, will continue to be in control of her money and her career as her conservator, reports Variety.
The 38-year-old pop singer’s attorney, Samuel D. Ingham III, told the judge: “My client has informed me that she is afraid of her father,” and added that Spears “will not perform again if her father is in charge of her career.”
Britney ended her Las Vegas residency in January 2019 to help Jamie recover from “life-threatening health issues” after he suffered a ruptured colon.
However, their relationship took a nose dive in September 2019 when Jamie had an altercation with Britney’s teen son, noted Yahoo News.
TMZ notes that Britney is upset with Jamie for approving a deal with her business manager, Tri Star Sports & Entertainment Group, that paid the firm $308,974 in 2019 even though she had ceased performing.
