Biden Won’t Support 25th Amendment to Remove Trump, But Pence Considers it: Report
President-elect Joe Biden refuses to support using the 25th Amendment to remove President Donald Trump from office for being unfit to serve, but Vice President Mike Pence has reportedly not ruled it out.
A source close to Pence told CNN that the vice president wants to preserve the 25th Amendment option in case Trump becomes more unstable.
Trump called on his supporters to march to the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 to stop Congress from certifying the election results, which they did. Five people died as a result of the riot in Washington D.C.
A Reuters/Ipsos poll found 57% of Americans wanted Trump to be removed immediately following the violence.
Even though he has admitted that Trump is unfit, Biden refuses to support using the 25th Amendment or impeachment to protect the country from Trump, reports PBS.
Democratic leaders — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) — have called for impeachment or using the 25th Amendment as soon as possible.
