Arkansas Cop Shoots Small 9-Pound Dog, The Pooch Survives

Faulkner County Sheriff Tim Ryals fired Deputy Keenan Wallace on Jan. 5 after Wallace shot a small dog in Conway, Arkansas on Jan. 4.

The sheriff’s office received a call about an aggressive dog in a residential subdivision, and sent Wallace to the scene, notes KATV.

Wallace, a K-9 handler, fired his gun at the tiny dog, which Ryals said did not appear to violate, any state law or agency policy.

Ryals added that he was referring the investigation to the prosecuting attorney’s office for further review.

Ryals posted a message on Facebook to announce Wallace had been fired.

The dog, Reeses, was not killed, but suffered a shattered jaw. A GoFundMe page has been set up by owner Meagan Harris for the vet bills.
