Arizona State Rep. Kelly Townsend told a crowd in Apache Junction, Arizona on May 1 that the ‘freedom” to allow people to disregard coronavirus safety rules (spreading the deadly disease) was just like the “freedom” she gave her late husband to fly, which ended his life:
I will block you from taking the freedom from my fellow citizens.
During a rally against coronavirus safety on May 3, Rep. Townsend told the crowd not to believe the death rate numbers of the coronavirus, tweeted KPNX reporter Michael Doudna.

In 2019, Rep. Townsend claimed that mandated vaccinations — to save lives – wewre communism, reported the Phoenix New Times:
I read yesterday that the idea is being floated that if not enough people get vaccinated, then we are going to force them to. The idea that we force someone to give up their liberty for the sake of the collective is not based on American values but rather, Communist.
