Officer Anthony Doran is accused of using his police body cam to film himself having sex in the Superior Police Department in Arizona.
The claims appear in a civil complaint made by a man accusing Doran and three others of excessive force, notes KTVK.
The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office said its investigators found videos and images of Doran’s sex acts, and several pictures of a naked little girl, all on Doran’s work computer, reports KPNX.
However, the Pinal County Attorney’s Office did not charge Doran.
A detective said the images of the girl could not be “classified as child exploitation, however, they would be classified as erotica, could be indicative of grooming behaviors,” according to KTVK.
The Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board said there is a pending case against Doran, who was fired in April.
Doran, the Superior Police Department and the town manager have not responded to requests for comment.
The Arizona Republic notes that the Superior Police Department has a history of hiring cops who have been fired by other departments and disciplined:
Superior has nine officers, according to reporting by The Republic’s Dennis Wagner, most of which have been fired by previous departments, sanctioned by the state or placed on the Brady List, meaning their past behavior could compromise future court testimony.
The fallout of hiring these “second-chance officers” is coming to light in a lawsuit against former Cmdr. Anthony Doran, who at one time was the department’s second in command. He is accused of roughing up and wrongly arresting a guy.
