3 Transgender Women Attacked in Los Angeles While Bystanders Film and Laugh

An unidentified man attacked three trangender women — Joslyn Allen, Jaslene Busanet and Eden Estrada — with a crowbar on Hollywood Blvd in Los Angeles on Aug. 17.

Bystanders pulled out their cell phones to film the attack, some even laughed asd taunted the victims.

Allen recalled the incident to KABC:

He literally grabs my hand and pulls me. He’s like “we’re going to find your friends because I’m going to beat y’all up.”

The Los Angeles Police Department said on Aug. 20 they caught the man responsible for the assault, 29-year-old Carlton Callway.

Los Angeles City Councilman Mitch O’Farrel slammed the bystanders for failing to help the women, notes the Stamford Advocate:

When I saw the video, like anyone who has seen it who believes in human decency, to see this level of violence celebrated gleefully, so much so that the perpetrator himself posted on social media, is like a sucker punch to all of us who believe in civilized behavior.
