20,000 People Are Homeless On Christmas Day In Los Angeles

Some 20,000 homeless people — including women and children — spent Christmas on the streets of Los Angeles.

LA street artist Plastic Jesus used a car dash camera to film some of the homeless Americans who live among trash bags and make-shift tents in the Skid Row district —  5th Street, 6th Street, San Pedro Street — notes the Daily Mail.

According to a June report, about 2,000 homeless people in this part of Los Angeles have to share nine public toilets.

While there are some homeless shelters in downtown Los Angeles, there are not nearly enough for all the needy.

A November report by economist Edward N. Wolff in The National Bureau Of Economic Research found that the richest one percent of American households own 40 percent of the country’s wealth.

The Washington Post reported that the same top one percent own more wealth than the bottom 90 percent combined.

Those same people will be receiving  massive tax breaks courtesy of President Donald Trump and the Republican Party.
