145 CEOs Beg GOP-Controlled Senate To Pass Gun Control Bills, McConnell Doesn’t Respond
145 top CEOs signed a letter urging the Republican-controlled Senate to pass legislation requiring background checks on all gun sales and a strong Red Flag law, which allows courts to issue risk protection orders; the legislation was introduced by the Democrats, notes Axios:
We are writing to you because we have a responsibility and obligation to stand up for the safety of our employees , customers and all Americans in the communities we serve across the country. Doing nothing about America’s gun violence crisis is simply unacceptable and it is time to stand with the American public on gun safety.
The letter was signed by CEOS of Airbnb, the Gap, Pinterest, Lyft, the Brookfield Property Group and Royal Caribbean, reports the New York Times.
However, the CEOs who didn’t sign the gun control letter include: Apple, Facebook, Google, JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo.
