110K Condoms To Be Distributed At Winter Olympics: 37 Per Athlete
The 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea has set a record for the largest number of free condoms handed out at the Winter Games.
According to Olympic organizers, 110,000 condoms will be distributed on Feb. 9, notes the Daily Mail.
With almost 3,000 athletes taking part, the number of condoms comes out to 37.6 per athlete, male and female.
Olympic organizers explained where the condoms will be distributed:
Baskets with condoms will be placed at both men’s and women’s toilets at athletes’ villages in Pyeongchang and Gangneung, the main press center, the media village as well as medical centers.
Convenience Co has donated 100,000 of the condoms for “a successful hosting of the Winter Olympics and the prevention of the spread of the HIV virus.”
EliteDaily.com opined on why Olympians need so many condoms during their competition:
Although no one really knows what led to this huge jump in Olympic sexy time, some believe it’s due to the emergence of dating apps.
The truth is, the facade perpetuating nothing but wholesome happenings in the Olympic Village first began to crumble way back in the 1992 games.
